German acting legend and cult icon Udo Kier has sadly passed away at the age of 81.

Kier, instantly recognisable for his uniquely chilling presence, leaves behind an incredible body of work, having graced over 200 films throughout his career.

Career

Udo Kier was a genuine legend of the screen, and he'll be remembered for his magnetic performances in some truly iconic B-movies.

 >He rose to fame with his unforgettable, unsettling roles in the 1970s horror classics, particularly the outrageous double bill of "Flesh for Frankenstein" (1973) and "Blood for Dracula" (1974).

 >But he wasn't just a cult figure! He was also an arthouse darling and a great collaborator, famously working with legends like pop artist Andy Warhol.

Details of His Passing

The actor passed away on Sunday morning, November 23rd, 2025, at a hospital in Palm Springs, California.

The sad news was confirmed by his partner, Delbert McBride, and his long-time friend, Michael Childers. While his family confirmed his passing, they have not yet released the official cause of death.
