I'll Never Change for Anyone – Mariam Timmer of RHOLAGOS

Mariam Timmer, the Lagos socialite and reality TV star, says viewers will see her usual bold energy on the new show, The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa, which started on Showmax on Friday, 28 November 2025.

Timmer, who is one of the Nigerians in this first pan-African series, said she felt no pressure to be less of herself while they were filming. She explained that she was completely authentic (true to herself) even though she was meeting new cast members from various Housewives series across the continent.

“Everyone knows I’m expressive and unfiltered, and one thing I’ll never do is water myself down for anyone,” she said, adding that she chose to show up as her complete self while remaining aware of the dynamics among the diverse group. Timmer noted that some cast members were initially cautious around her but eventually warmed up when they discovered she was “easy to talk to.”

The businesswoman from Lagos said being asked to join the first Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa is a big moment in her career. She felt the same excitement as when she was part of the very first season of The Real Housewives of Lagos. She believes her selection proves that being true to herself and working hard keeps giving her opportunities in reality television.

Timmer shared that the new series will show how much she has grown both personally and professionally since she started on the Housewives shows. She explained that viewers will see a better, more focused version of herself—someone she thinks "leads the way" wherever she goes.

“My consistency, work ethic and presence speak louder than ever,” she said. “I’m not the same woman you met in Season 1 of RHOLagos.”

Friendships and Drama During Filming

The Lagos housewife shared that she got on really well with some of the other cast members, especially Annie Mthembu from Durban and Princess Jecoco from Abuja. She said these friendships felt real and supportive, even when the cameras weren't rolling.

Annie Mthembu had previously said that Mariam and Christall Kay from Johannesburg were the most dramatic cast members this season. When asked about this, Mariam agreed. She said she certainly provided entertainment while still being authentic and "full of heart."

Mariam Timmer Showcased Nigeria in Brazil

Timmer stressed that she was proud to represent Lagos and Nigeria during the trip to Brazil, where the show was filmed. She pointed out times when she shared parts of her Yoruba culture with the other women, noting that they were interested and appreciative.

Sticking to her well-known style, she said her fashion choices were on purpose. She got every outfit from Nigerian designers to make sure the country's fashion industry was noticed on a big African platform.

The series features some of the biggest Housewives stars from Lagos, Abuja, Johannesburg, Durban, and Nairobi. Timmer said viewers can look forward to an interesting mix of great fashion, different cultures, arguments between the women, and some fun, lighter moments.
