The Nigerian, Grammy-winning singer Tems spoke about the positive thinking and faith that kept her strong long before she became globally famous. She shared this during a short Q&A session with fans on X (formerly Twitter).
When a fan asked what stopped her from giving up on the difficult days, the singer said she got her strength from faith and a strong belief in herself.
“Oh baby, honestly I leaned on God a lot. And I focused on serving. I hypnotised myself into thinking positively about me. Most negative thoughts are lies. They are just easier to believe. There is nothing you cannot do. Just don’t focus on other people because who will focus on you?” she wrote.
Another fan asked what job she would have picked if music hadn't worked out. Tems said she might have chosen a more traditional career.
“I might have been an accountant or a mathematics teacher,” she said.
When asked about the main thing life has taught her, Tems answered with a short but deep thought:
Tems also mentioned the thing she likes most about Wizkid, who she often works with and is a friend in the music business.
“His heart, his work ethic,” she responded.
