Lancelot Imasuen Honoured for 30 Years in Nollywood at ZUMA Event

The veteran filmmaker, Lancelot Imasuen, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the recently concluded Zuma International Film Festival. This high point marked the end of a month-long celebration of his thirty years working behind the camera.

 The award followed the launch of his biography, “A Trip in Motion,” which took place just days earlier at the Alliance Française de Lagos, Mike Adenuga Centre, Ikoyi.

The book, which was written by the poet and educator Godson Osarenren, completed a series of events marking Imasuen’s three-decade career. This prompted the National Film Corporation (NFC) to give him the award.

In an emotional response, Imasuen said: “Last night in Abuja I was humbled to be honoured by the Nigerian Film Corporation and the organizers of the Zuma International Film Festival with a Lifetime Achievement Award. This is a big thank you to everyone who has valued my modest contribution to the growth of the Nigerian motion picture industry—to my wife and daughters for the lonely nights, and to all my colleagues over the years.”
