Nazo Ekezie Explains Why She Stepped Out of the Spotlight

Why I Left the Limelight – Nazo Ekezie

Nollywood actress and now producer, Nazo Ekezie, known for films like “Blinded (2021),” “Stuck with Us (2023),” and “Flawed (2019),” recently explained why she stopped acting when she was most popular. In a chat with our reporter, the actress said she has gone "underground" to focus on other work, especially her job as a producer.

“I have a couple of other projects that I am involved in. You know, I have become a producer. It depends on what is calling my attention at the moment,” she said.

She admitted that acting hasn’t been “calling for her attention for a while now,” but stressed that she hasn’t abandoned the craft entirely. “I haven’t gone anywhere. I’m still here,” she added, with a muted smile.

Ekezie said she was thankful to God for keeping her and her family safe despite the country's lack of security and financial difficulties. Looking forward, she hopes to reach her full potential and achieve more great things next year.

The actress, who started her career in 2009, made her first film, “Flawed,” in 2018, which featured Mofe Duncan and Ebele Okaro. She says her recent choice shows she has the courage to focus on personal growth and new jobs within the film industry.
