Real cause of Alex Ekubo’s death revealed

Information has come to light regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of the late Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo.

This update follows the immense shock felt by fans and industry colleagues alike upon hearing the news of his passing just hours ago.

Addressing the public’s questions regarding the sudden nature of the event, Nollywood filmmaker Stanley Ontop disclosed that Alexx Ekubo had been privately fighting stage 4 liver cancer since 2024.

In a post shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday evening, Stanley explained that although Alexx had undergone a liver transplant, complications occurred when the liver failed once more. He stated that the actor's condition continued to decline until he passed away.

“complications arose after the liver failed again, and his condition deteriorated until his passing.”

Stanley Ontop, a close associate of Alexx, appealed to the public to stop circulating unverified rumours about the actor's illness. 

He wrote: “We request that everyone allow Alexx to rest in peace and respect the privacy of his family during this difficult time.

“Alexx was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer in 2024. After undergoing treatment and a liver transplant, he briefly returned to work. Unfortunately, the liver failed again and complications arose, and his condition deteriorated until his passing. His remains have been deposited at the morgue. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
