Brown's London Sentencing Prompts Usher and Chris Brown to Cancel Tour Dates

Usher and Chris Brown have canceled four dates on their hugely successful R&B Tour, a move that comes ahead of a major court appearance for Brown.

On Friday (October 9), ticket buyers were notified that the following shows have been called off: the October 17 concert at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore; the October 24 stop at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati; the October 29 show at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina; and the October 31 performance at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Lucas Oil Stadium shared the promoter's explanation for the cancellation just days after running a social media contest giving away two free tickets to the show. Cincinnati ticket holders received the same notice by email.

"Following an extensive run of sold-out stadium shows on one of the year's biggest tours, the event promoter has made the difficult decision to cancel select upcoming dates on the R&B Tour to prioritize the health and well-being of the touring party and crew," the statement read. "The demands of a tour of this length and scale are significant, and these adjustments will allow the tour to continue safely and sustainably through the remaining scheduled performances."

The cancellations arrive as Brown nears a critical court date. In July, the two-time Grammy winner pleaded guilty to affray in connection with his role in a 2023 nightclub attack in the UK. The misdemeanor carries a maximum sentence of up to three years in prison, and under the terms of his bail, Brown must return to a UK court by October 25.

Despite the cancellations, Usher and Brown still have a substantial run of shows ahead. They perform a second night in Houston on October 10, followed by a show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on October 15. The tour then resumes on November 5 with a five-night stand at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
