Bobrisky had been in police custody at Alagbon, Lagos State since Monday night, following his arrest by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). Sources reported that he experienced discomfort after several hours in detention.

According to police sources, Bobrisky was transported to the hospital around 2 p.m. in a police ambulance. This decision may have been made to avoid public attention, as the Commissioner of Police for the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) was preparing to transfer Bobrisky to his command.

Witnesses told Vanguard that Bobrisky repeatedly complained about severe pain in his “bre@st,” prompting officers to take him to the hospital before proceeding with the transfer. Throughout his time in custody, Bobrisky was kept in isolation, under the close watch of two armed officers.

Afrobeats star Asake has taken his father, Fatai Odunsi, to a specialist hospital in Ikoyi.

Asake Alleged Dad

According to a source, Chinese experts are currently providing medical care for him there. When Sunday Scoop reached out to one of Odunsi’s neighbors, she confirmed that he is indeed receiving treatment at this facility. This neighbor had previously guided our correspondent to Asake’s childhood home in Iga Idunganran, Isale Eko, during a visit last Saturday.

Speaking in the local Isale Eko parlance (now translated into English), she stated, “Call me again around 6:30 pm. By then, I should have gone to their house, so I would be able to give you more information on what you asked.”

When our correspondent reached out to her again around 7 pm, she confirmed the news, saying, “I have confirmed from his (Odunsi’s) wife that he has been admitted to a specialist hospital in Ikoyi where Chinese experts are currently attending to him.”

According to a source close to Asake’s management, the situation with his daughter Zeenat and her mother was simply a mistake. The source, who spoke to Sunday Scoop anonymously, said Asake is now taking care of his financial responsibilities towards both his father and daughter. However, they weren’t sure if Asake would be getting back together with Zeenat’s mother or providing financial support to her.

The entire thing was an oversight, but all has been sorted. He has reunited with his family and promised to give them whatever they would need to keep him going. To the best of my knowledge, he has begun fulfilling the promises he made and that is why there is now calm. I have no knowledge of what has or will happen to the baby mama; what I know is what I have told you”, the source said.

Odunsi, in a widely shared video, revealed that after reconciling with Asake, they reached an agreement. Asake promised to buy Odunsi a new house and cover his medical bills. Real estate agents are already looking for the perfect property. Odunsi also confirmed that Asake will take full responsibility for his 11-year-old daughter, Zeenat. However, Odunsi didn’t say anything about Asake getting back together with Zeenat’s mother or offering her any support.

The NCDC is warning about a rise in cases of yellow fever.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has issued a warning about the rising number of yellow fever cases, coinciding with the ongoing cholera outbreak that has affected nearly all states in the country.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has issued a warning about the rising number of yellow fever cases, coinciding with the ongoing cholera outbreak that has affected nearly all states in the country.

Dr. Jide Idris, made the announcement during a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja. He mentioned a slight decrease in cholera cases and deaths in the past week, crediting the improvement to efforts at both the national and state levels. However, he cautioned that the peak of the rainy season, which typically exacerbates cholera outbreaks, is still to come.

Dr. Idris expressed concerns about underreporting due to inadequate surveillance resources and the political stigma associated with the disease. Moreover, he noted a worrying increase in yellow fever cases, especially with the onset of the rainy season.

“Three presumptive positive cases have been reported—two in Ekiti State and one in Bayelsa—along with one death. Yellow fever, a viral hemorrhagic disease transmitted by infected mosquitoes, presents symptoms such as fever, chills, headache, back pain, body aches, and jaundice,” he stated.

He emphasised the importance of vaccination as the most effective prevention method against yellow fever, offering lifelong immunity. He urged the public to ensure they are vaccinated, use mosquito repellents, wear protective clothing, and eliminate stagnant water to reduce mosquito breeding sites.

Dr. Idris highlighted the impact of heavy rainfall and flooding on the spread of waterborne diseases like cholera and yellow fever.

“Floodwaters often carry pathogens from soil, animal waste, and sewage into water sources, compromising water quality and leading to disease outbreaks. Flooding also creates breeding conditions for mosquitoes, increasing the risk of mosquito-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, and yellow fever,” he said.

The NCDC has provided comprehensive guidelines to mitigate the impact of these diseases, including boiling and storing water in clean containers, practising proper hand hygiene, ensuring food is thoroughly cooked and protected from contamination, avoiding open defecation and improper waste disposal, and seeking medical attention for any sudden, sustained watery stool.

Dr. Idris also advised healthcare workers to use standard safety precautions and report suspected cholera cases promptly. He urged state governments to prioritise access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities and to maintain proper drainage systems to prevent water accumulation.

In addition to addressing cholera and yellow fever, Dr. Idris reminded Nigerians to remain vigilant against COVID-19 by maintaining hygiene practices, wearing masks, and getting vaccinated, noting reports of a global surge in cases.

He called on all stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare workers, partners, and the public, to intensify efforts to combat these public health threats. He emphasised the need for coordinated action to prevent further loss of life and ensure the health and well-being of all Nigerians.
