Prophet Tomi Arayomi explains the reasons why women should avoid calling their husbands “babe.”

During a recent sermon to his congregation in the US, he suggested that the frequent use of “baby” by wives contributes to husbands behaving immaturely like children in modern times.

Tonto Dike, a Nollywood actress turned politician, has taken an unapologetic stance regarding her past.

Tonto expressed her views in a post on her Instagram, emphasizing that she perceives what some might see as scandal or gossip as a reflection of her strength and resilience.

She recalled her past experiences, mentioning that she was not ashamed of anything, no matter how difficult it might have been.

She wrote; “I’m not embarrassed about anything I went through. What may be TEA for you, is a Testimony for me. If you want to talk about what broke me, invite me to the table so I can tell you how God used the pieces,” she wrote.

Former Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has recounted how fake news stating that $1.9bn was paid into his account almost destroyed his marriage of 40 years.

Mohammed, a Minister during the Buhari-led administration, shared this while speaking at a programme organised by the Mass Communication Department of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye on Thursday, 18th July.

“The menace of fake news is a menace that must be tackled by all of us. This is something that nearly cost me my marriage of about 40 years. While we were in government, there was fake news that I had $1.9bn in my bank account and unfortunately, many people believed this falsehood, including my wife.

One day, my wife woke me up in the middle of the night and spoke in Yoruba, She called me: ‘Daddy,” and I said, ‘Yes, what is it?’ She said, ‘We all know that death can come at any time; we may say it wouldn’t be this early but it may be, but whatever happens, it will be good if you make me one of the signatories to your bank account to prepare for any eventuality. Even my friends and many other people are already begging me for money after seeing the report of so much money in your account.’”

The ex-minister said he needed to take his time to clarify to his wife that the report was completely fake news, and that the budget for his ministry in a year was £5 billion, amounting to a total of £40 billion for the years he served in government.

He expressed his astonishment at how someone, somewhere, fabricated such a tale about a substantial amount of money being in his bank account.

“This is why I strongly believe that this menace of fake news should be curbed. You won’t know the weight of it until it is about you. It has destroyed many marriages, many people have even committed suicide because fake news were published about them on social media.” he said

Kelly Andrade, 25, sued 35-year-old Michael Esposito for filming her while she lived with him and his family in New York’s Staten Island.

The father-of-four was arrested after she claimed he tried to break down her door when he realised she had discovered the device and the memory card inside crammed with “hundreds” of clips.

A Manhattan jury has now awarded the au pair £600,000 in emotional distress damages against Esposito and his wife Danielle, plus £1.6 million in punitive damages against him.

Esposito, who owns three LaRosa Grill franchises, was taken into custody on suspicion of illegal surveillance, which carries a maximum sentence of four years.

However, he was allowed to walk free on the condition he completes two years of probation and counselling.

Ms Andrade’s solicitor previously described the punishment as a “slap on the wrist“.

Speaking to the New York Post, the nanny said: “It’s not enough for the whole situation I’ve been through these three years. It’s not enough.

“I was angry because the damage that he caused me is irreversible.”

In her lawsuit, the Colombian national described spending hundreds of hours training after being hired by Cultural Care Au Pair and sent to work in the UK.

She told the Post she was thrilled at the opportunity to learn English while working in Britain.

But she became suspicious after frequently seeing Esposito tinkering with the smoke detector in the bedroom they had given her, saying it “was constantly being repositioned“.

After several weeks in the job she took a closer look at the device and spotted the camera hidden inside.

She described having to escape through a window when Esposito arrived home and started banging on her door.

According to the lawsuit, police later found “hundreds of recordings” of her “nude and/or dressing/undressing” on it.
