Rebecca Ruona Olotu, known simply as Ruona, is shaking up the beauty industry with her innovative venture, Kymarle Beauty. Instead of a fixed location, Ruona created a mobile make-up studio, a specially designed truck that brings premium beauty services directly to clients.

“We’re revolutionising the beauty industry by offering convenience and accessibility while maintaining the highest standards of make-up artistry,” Rebecca stated.

Ruona’s journey to becoming a makeup artist began at Nottingham Trent University in the UK, where she studied law while cultivating her passion for makeup. What started as a hobby, watching YouTube tutorials and experimenting on friends, blossomed into a serious pursuit when she became a freelance makeup artist in 2018. Ruona aimed to enhance natural beauty using minimal products.

A pivotal moment in her career came during a masterclass in Lagos led by celebrity makeup artist King Mali Magic. Inspired by Mali’s “Dewy Brown Girl Project,” Ruona became an advocate for the representation of women of color in beauty, encouraging them to embrace their radiant skin.

On June 12, 2022, Kymarle Beauty Mobile Studio launched, bringing a fully equipped beauty studio directly to clients. This unique service caters to events like weddings, music video shoots, and Nollywood productions.

Ruona is a multi-talented individual. After graduating in 2014, she pursued a career in music, releasing her debut EP and forming the girl group Rcube with her sister and cousin. Rcube gained recognition through dynamic performances at major events like “Industry Night” and “Felabration.”

In 2018, Ruona added another accomplishment to her resume by qualifying as a lawyer. She contributed to the Presidential Amnesty Programme and empowered communities in the Niger Delta region.

Beyond music and law, Ruona’s creativity extends to special effects makeup for Halloween and free makeovers for charity, showcasing her commitment to giving back.

“Beauty is not just about how you look; it’s about how you feel. That’s what we aim to deliver with our services,” Rebecca added.

Miss Bantu 2024: Organizers meets Ruunic Hotels and Suites Management, Solicit Partnership 

Their visit signals a synergy between the event organizers and the Hotel Management.

In the meeting, the Consultant and Project Manager of Miss Bantu 2024; Comr. Mfonobong Robson while interacting with the house management said that Ruunic Hotels is the official venue for the forthcoming event and therefore there is need for collaboration for its success.

While seeking for partnership in the area of event hall and accommodation for contestants, the consultant added that the partnership will promote both the event and the hotel.

Comr. Robson also added that hosting this year’s edition one event at the proposed venue, it will go a long way in harnessing potentials and creativity from the area whereby advertising the hotel.

Ruunic Hotels and Suites Management however pledged to support the event within the available resources and hope to be updated with the activities revolving round the event.

Inferno Runway, a project conceived by reality TV producer Bob Cal, was brought from the heart of New York City to Akwa Ibom in a bid to discover deserving talents in the African fashion scene. The 13th edition of the prestigious Mr. and Miss Nigeria International Pageant 2024, hosted by Brendance and Crusader Limited, culminated in a grand and unforgettable finale in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The event, held from the 10th to the 20th of October 2024, was a remarkable celebration of Nigerian culture, beauty, and diversity, as contestants from across the country competed for the coveted titles.

The grand finale, which was nothing short of epic, showcased dazzling performances, breathtaking costumes, and an unparalleled display of grace and talent. On Saturday 9th November, 2024, the organizers of the much talked about Miss Bantu Pageant concluded the first audition that took place at Dr’s Mess, Uyo now (Calawazobia).

Miss Bantu 2024: Organizers concludes 1st Audition

At the audition, contestants were asked series of questions inline with pageant ethics in a bid to test their communication skills, self esteem, composure and temperament.

The audition which was in three dimensions; Q&A (Interactive Session) Segment, Essay Writing Competition and Catwalk Session came to an end as the organizing crew announced successful contestants that made it to the next level of the contest.

Highpoint of the audition was photo session with the contestants as organizers announced Saturday 16th November, 2024 for the 2nd audition.
