A Musical Journey Inspired by Family

Growing up in Port Harcourt as the youngest of seven children, DYKKE’s love for music was influenced by his older brothers. “I watched them buy songbooks, sing, and rap different kinds of songs,” he recalls. “Eventually, I started joining them, and that’s how I developed the ability to write and perform my own songs.“

A Unique Approach to Songwriting

DYKKE’s music is shaped by personal experiences, emotions, and the world around him. “Sometimes inspiration comes from life experiences—either my own or someone else’s story,” he explains. “Other times, I’m influenced by specific topics I want to explore, the way I feel at the moment, or even just the sounds I hear around me.”

Challenges in the Industry

As an independent artist, one of the biggest hurdles DYKKE faces is promoting his music without major backing. “Getting my songs out to the public is a challenge,” he admits. “I’m still working on partnerships to overcome these obstacles.”

Influences and Collaborations

When it comes to musical influences, DYKKE draws inspiration from Afrobeat stars who continue to redefine the genre. He has also collaborated with other artists and describes the experience as “amazing.”

Recent Projects and What’s Next

DYKKE recently released Call Jehovah, which is available on all streaming platforms, with the official music video on YouTube. Looking ahead, he is working on a new project, which he plans to announce soon.
