The crash involving a white Toyota Hiace bus with the registration number XA690AKU occurred at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Monday, 16th September, on the RCC, Ogbere, Ore-Ijebu Ode expressway in Ogun State.

Four individuals have reportedly been burnt to death in a road crash that left eight other people injured.
The crash involving a white Toyota Hiace bus with the registration number XA690AKU occurred at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Monday, 16th September, on the RCC, Ogbere, Ore-Ijebu Ode expressway in Ogun State.
The spokesman for the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun command, Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident on Tuesday, stating that 18 individuals were involved in the accident.
She attributed the cause of the crash to the driver’s loss of control.
Okpe stated, “A total of 18 people were involved, comprising 8 male adults and 10 female adults. 1 male adult and 3 female adults were killed, while 4 male adults and 4 female adults were injured (burnt), with others remaining unhurt.”
She also disclosed that the injured victims were taken to the State Hospital in Ijebu-Ode for medical attention, and the bodies have been deposited at the State Hospital Morgue, Ijebu Ode.

An Economic And Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) task force is gearing up to launch a comprehensive investigation into the alleged fraud case linked to ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
The EFCC task force recently conducted an extensive session to review the findings of the Ad-Hoc Committee of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, which implicated the former Governor in the misappropriation of N423 billion.
As per reports from The Nation, the EFCC plans to summon El-Rufai and his associates who served during his administration for interrogation.
Those expected to face questioning include former Finance commissioners from May 29, 2015, to May 29, 2023; all accountant generals throughout El-Rufai’s eight-year tenure; and the chairpersons of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) spanning from 2018 to 2023.
Additionally, former managing directors of the Kaduna Market Development and Management Company Ltd between May 29, 2015, and May 29, 2023, and former managing directors of Kaduna Roads Agency (KADRA) from October 11, 2017, to November 2021 will be investigated, except for Amina Ja’afar Ladan, an engineer with a brief one-month tenure.

Financial Struggles: Pensioners Accessing Their Retirement Savings
The number of workers making voluntary withdrawals from their Pension savings increased by 87.6% in the first quarter of 2024.

The number of workers making voluntary withdrawals from their Pension savings increased by 87.6% in the first quarter of 2024.
Specifically, the number of workers making withdrawals rose to 1,302 in Q1’24 from 694 in the previous quarter (Q4’23).
The value of funds withdrawn from voluntary contributions increased by 160% to N3.9 billion in Q1’24 from N1.5 billion in the previous quarter.
Out of the total workers making withdrawals, 1,259 were from the private sector, and 43 were from the public sector.
Voluntary Contributions are extra funds workers can choose to add to their mandatory pension contributions or save separately for retirement.
The Pension Reform Act (PRA) 2014 allows employees to make voluntary contributions to their Retirement Savings Accounts (RSAs) to enhance their retirement benefits.
The report stated: “Approvals were granted to 1,302, RSA holders to access N3.9 billion of their voluntary contributions during the quarter under review while 24 were rejected due to incorrect computations.
1,259 RSA holders whose benefits were approved were from the private sector, while 43 were from the public sector.”
Requests for Mortgage Access:
1,390 RSA holders requested access to up to 25% of their RSA balances for payment of equity contributions for residential mortgages.
1,234 requests amounting to N10.5 billion were approved.
156 requests were rejected due to incorrect documentation.
Out of the approved applicants:
379 were from the private sector.
855 were from the public sector.
New RSA Registrations:
89,061 new RSAs were registered across different sectors by the end of the quarter on 31 March 2024.
RSA Registrations by PFAs:
Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers had the largest market share with 23.9% and 21,288 new contributors.
Access Pensions Limited followed with 22.5% and 20,042 new contributors.
ARM Pension Managers Ltd, Leadway Pensure PFA, and Premium Pension had 8.4%, 7.1%, 7.0% respectively of the new registrations.
The top five PFAs collectively held 68.8% of the new registrations, while the bottom five PFAs accounted for 4.3% of the 89,061 new RSAs registered in Q1’24.

In the video, a Nigerian man, who kept his face hidden, revealed that he is 36 years old while being interviewed by news reporters.
The man recounted an incident that took place approximately 10 days ago.
He described how on his first day at work, he stole his boss’s car, drove it to a church, and falsely claimed to the pastor that the car was his, seeking blessings for his new purchase.
His aim was to use the car for Uber services.
Unfortunately, his scheme failed as he was later apprehended by the police, leading to his arrest and subsequent public display.
