Former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun shared a remarkable story at his mother’s 25th remembrance ceremony.

Former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun shared a remarkable story at his mother’s 25th remembrance ceremony.
He claimed to have been carried in his mother’s womb for three and a half years, calling his birth a “miracle.”
Amosun said people were skeptical about his humanity after such an extended gestation period. He emphasized the importance of honoring parents, even after their passing, stating that both the Quran and the Bible uphold this value.
“My father, who wasn’t around at the time, had arranged for fuel to burn my body if I didn’t survive.”
This rare occurrence led his father to give him the name Duro-o-rike, meaning “Stay and be given the best of care.”
Abidoye Amosun, the elder brother of former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, confirmed that their father had sent a naming gift and letter with names for the newborn three days before the naming ceremony.
Reflecting on the fleeting nature of life, Amosun requested prayers for his late mother and all who have passed on. The remembrance gathering was attended by Islamic leaders from Egbaland and beyond, former aides, and family members.

Nigerian-American singer and dancer, Korra Obidi, received criticism from Nigerians on social media for planning a trip to Hawaii right after hitting a $50,000 milestone in her GoFundMe campaign.

Controversy Erupts Over Korra Obidi’s Hawaii Vacation Following $50,000 GoFundMe Campaign for Legal Battle with Ex-Husband
Following up the online saga that Obidi initiated a fundraiser on Friday to raise $100,000 for a skilled lawyer to contest her ex-husband, Justin Dean, for the custody of their children.
More than 950 donors supported the cause, helping Obidi raise half of her goal in just a few days.
In a statement on her GoFundMe page, she stated;
“As a mother, it’s time to fight for myself and my kids,” appealing to her followers for financial assistance.
However, the situation shifted quickly when Obidi disclosed during a Facebook live session that she was planning a vacation in Hawaii.
The disclosure has triggered significant anger among her supporters and benefactors, with many alleging she misused the funds designated for legal disputes.
In a Facebook post, Wanda Johnson condemned Obidi, stating;
“She got y’all’s money, now she’s at the airport. Some of you are so weak to believe her foolishness. She is always begging, scamming, and manipulating.”
Chigoziri Ohochukwu also expressed disappointment, commenting,
“You are gradually becoming a professional beggar on social media.”
The situation has led to calls for reporting the GoFundMe for a refund.
Jennifer Lynn Russell stated;
“People need to report the GoFundMe, everybody needs to get their money back.”
In contrast, a few voiced support for Obidi.
Mary Monique Napont defended her, stating,
“It’s none of your business lady. She is an influencer, performer, student, and most importantly a great mother. Leave her be. You are a part of the problem. If you don’t like her, don’t follow her. It’s that simple.”
Amid an ongoing and highly publicized divorce and custody battle with her ex-husband, the controversy arises. Justin Dean had previously gained the right to keep their children off Obidi’s online platforms.
Obidi has accused Dean of abuse and “gaslighting,” both during their marriage and towards their daughters.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s S3xting Scandal: Candidate Brags About “Intimate” Photos of Reporter
New details about US presidential candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s sexting scandal have continued to gain momentum as he allegedly boasted about having “intimate” images of New York magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi while they texted.

New details about US presidential candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s sexting scandal have continued to gain momentum as he allegedly boasted about having “intimate” images of New York magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi while they texted.
According to The Daily Beast, the 70-year-old Independent party candidate told his close friends about the pictures the political correspondent sent him, which led to the scandal escalating.
Nuzzi, 31 (pictured below) was reportedly confronted about the images by the magazine’s editor-in-chief, David Haskell, during a one-on-one meeting on September 13.
Haskell explained he learned Kennedy had been discussing the photos and telling people he was in a romantic relationship with Nuzzi.
Nuzzi initially tried to deny the allegations but reportedly confessed to the images, leading to her suspension from her position and the start of an external investigation into the journalist’s ethics.
Last week, New York magazine released a statement about Nuzzi’s suspension, although they didn’t mention the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy by name.
“Recently our Washington Correspondent Olivia Nuzzi acknowledged to the magazine’s editors that she had engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while she was reporting on the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures,” the outlet wrote via their website.
“Had the magazine been aware of this relationship, she would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign,” they continued, adding there were “no inaccuracies nor evidence of bias” in Nuzzi’s past articles.
The magazine explained Nuzzi was on leave and apologised for the “violation” of its readers.
Nuzzi also spoke out about the alleged affair in a statement last week, avoiding RFK Jr.’s name.
“The nature of some communications between myself and a former reporting subject turned personal,” she wrote, adding their relationship wasn’t physical.
Reports say Nuzzi and RFK Jr. exchanged inappropriate texts while he was married to Hines and while the reporter was engaged to journalist Ryan Lizza.
Lizza and Nuzzi have now called off their engagement.
In November 2023, Nuzzi published a profile about Kennedy Jr. after visiting his Brentwood, California estate and going for a hike together in the Santa Monica Mountains.
Their alleged texting affair occurred shortly after “Mr. Kennedy only met Olivia Nuzzi once for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece,” a spokesperson for Kennedy Jr. told the Post.
RFK Jr. and his wife Hines, 59, wed in 2014 after his well-known affairs during his previous marriages to Emily Ruth Black and Mary Richardson.

On October 17, 2024, a viral video surfaced where Speed Darlington described his time in police custody, claiming his rights were violated.
He said, “The police violated my civil rights and my human rights and denied me the opportunity to talk to my family and my lawyer. The rule says I can only be detained for two days yet I was held for four without any opportunity to speak to my people.”
“It seems like I’m not on social media like I used to be but what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger. I am stronger now, you feel me? 17 arrests in the USA plus this one making 18 arrests, nothing mega. I have been to the bottomless pit where there is no hope if you don’t know anybody, your own don finish,” Darlington added.
Speed Darlington was arrested for defamation after making a video about Burna Boy. He was accused of making false claims about Burna Boy’s alleged affiliation with Diddy. After being declared missing, he was found in an Abuja holding centre and released.
