In a video that’s been widely shared, she clarified that a clip from her television show, Mercy’s Menu, was misunderstood.

The actress explained that she had a “cancer scare” because of a swelling in her neck. Her doctors were initially concerned it could be serious, possibly linked to thyroid problems.

However, she emphasised that she is perfectly fine and I do not have cancer.

The actress said: “Thank you so much to all of you who have been calling and sending messages and prayers. But I do not have cancer. I noticed that a clip from my TV show, ‘Mercy’s menu’ has been flying around and it was a cut clip.

“I said I had a cancer scare. It means I had this swelling on my neck and my doctors thought it was something serious. I had problems with my thyroids.

“I am perfectly fine and I do not have cancer. The clip was completely misunderstood”.

In the original viral clip, Mercy described the difficult time when she was worried about cancer, which led to thyroid surgery while she was looking after her six-month-old youngest child.

She thanked her fans for their concern, phone calls, messages, and prayers, and assured them that she was doing well.
