American rapper and YouTuber DDG is making headlines again, and this time Nigeria is in the mix.
The rapper, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that he’s planning to buy a house in Lagos.
His words:
“Finna buy a house in Lagos, Nigeria. What’s a good area?”
This follows just a few months after he informed his fans in March that he was thinking about moving to Nigeria because he was fed up with life in the U.S.
However, his sudden interest in the country is happening while he’s deeply involved in a public child custody battle with singer and former girlfriend Halle Bailey — the mother of his child.
Earlier reports suggested that DDG’s request for a temporary restraining order against Halle had been rejected, but his legal team has now released a statement to clarify the situation.
According to his solicitor, the court did grant him a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) based on “serious allegations” made in his application.
Nevertheless, custody matters are still ongoing and will be addressed in court through a full hearing where evidence will be presented.
