Rivers state is capital of betrayal, most politicians passed through me – Rotimi Amaechi proclaimed (video)
Amaechi made the comment while pointing out that many politicians in Rivers State came up through him. He also explained that he doesn’t support thuggery because he wants to go to heaven.
In his words:
“Name one politician in Port Harcourt that didn’t pass through me, they can’t stand hunger.
“Rivers State has become the capital of betrayals, just name one politician who didn’t pass through me.
“You will not see me in any political meeting planning for thugs, you will not see me say this money is for thugs; I will not.
“My Priest tells me that anybody who dies in the course of that money, you will be held accountable; the society may not hold you accountable or send you to prison but God will not allow you into heaven because he will hold you accountable. I don’t want to miss heaven.”

Private Employers Paying Below N70,000 Face Jail Time – Federal Government
The Federal Government has once again warned that any private-sector employer paying below the new N70,000 minimum wage risks a prison sentence.

The Federal Government has once again warned that any private-sector employer paying below the new N70,000 minimum wage risks a prison sentence.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Kachollom Daju, made this statement while addressing the 13th Annual General Meeting of the Employers Association for Private Employment Agencies of Nigeria in Ikeja, Lagos.
Daju, who was represented by John Nyamali, Director of Employment and Wages, emphasised that the minimum wage is now a law.
“The minimum wage is now a law, and as a result, it is a punishable crime for any employer to pay less than N70,000 to any of its workers. Emphasizing the necessity of the updated wage to address current economic conditions, the government asserted that no Nigerian worker, whether in public or private employment, should earn less than this minimum.
The private employment agencies should make it compulsory in any contract they take from their principal that their workers should not earn less than the minimum wage. The least paid worker in Nigeria should earn N70,000, and I think that should be after all deductions.
The minimum wage is a law, and you can be jailed if you fail to implement it. The Federal Government is committed to ensuring that the least paid worker goes home with N70,000”
In response to the government’s directive, the President of the Employers Association for Private Employment Agencies of Nigeria, Dr Olufemi Ogunlowo, called for clarification on whether the N70,000 minimum wage applies as net or gross. He urged the government and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to resolve any ambiguities in the Act.
“We are already committed to the minimum wage and providing decent jobs for Nigerians while preventing the exploitation of human resources,” Ogunlowo said.
Chairperson of the NLC, Lagos State chapter, Funmilayo Sessi, on her part, emphasised the impact of economic challenges on workers’ incomes, urging private employers to promptly implement the N70,000 minimum wage.
“The N70,000 isn’t sufficient in today’s economic realities. Once the consequential adjustment is finalized, all private employment agencies must begin paying their workers the N70,000 minimum wage,” Sessi insisted. “The NLC in Lagos State will ensure strict enforcement, and EAPEAN should avoid any conflict with the NLC regarding the minimum wage.”
President Tinubu signed the new minimum wage bill, increasing it from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000 in July 2024.

Controversial Nigerian activist Martins Otse, widely recognized as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has claimed that more than ₦180 million was stolen from his NGO’s website following a hacking incident.
The activist has raised concerns about the security of his organization’s online presence after the breach.
In October, controversial activist VeryDarkMan launched the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative, which rapidly garnered over ₦35 million in donations within just a few hours. Following this impressive start, renowned music producer Don Jazzy generously added ₦100 million to the initiative.
However, on Friday, December 27, VeryDarkMan took to Instagram to share a troubling update: he revealed that ₦180 million had been stolen from the initiative’s account and transferred to an unknown account.
The activist, accompanied by Officer Joe, will be heading to Jos to tackle the pressing issue. He’s optimistic about finding a solution.
He said, “For the past few days, I have not been myself. I am here with Officer Joe and we are going to Jos. The NGO money, somebody hacked into the NGO website and I don’t know how they did it and N180 million is missing.
“Thank God we have tracked the person and we are on our way to Jos. They have arrested one, that is why I am even saying it now, I am excited and an account has been put on PND, so the account now has N20 million, N160 million has been diverted to another account.
“We are currently going there to see how I will get the money back. I just want to update you people, I even had to shut down the app and put it on maintenance so that people won’t really see what is going on but let me just come out plain and tell everybody that this is what is going on but hopefully, we would get the money back.”
