“We Got A Bit Carried Away?” Kane Speaks Out After Bayern’s Champions League Loss to Barcelona
Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has spoken out about the team’s disappointing 4-1 Champions League loss to Barcelona.

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has spoken out about the team’s disappointing 4-1 Champions League loss to Barcelona.
The loss was a big blow for Bayern, who were hoping to make a strong start to their Champions League campaign.
Barcelona dominated Bayern Munich at the Estadi Olimpic, securing a resounding 4-1 victory. Captain Raphinha opened the scoring early, but Kane equalized for Bayern. Despite controlling over 60% of possession, Bayern couldn’t capitalize and Barcelona added two more goals before halftime to seal the win.
Bayern Munich, despite gaining more control in the second half, couldn’t find a way past Inaki Pena’s goal. They created several attacks against Barcelona’s high defensive line but were unable to score. Raphinha’s third goal in the 56th minute sealed Bayern’s fate, marking their second consecutive Champions League loss. Harry Kane has spoken out about the disappointing result in Catalonia.
Speaking to the media, Kane said:
“Conceding three away from home in the first half wasn’t a great start for us.
We had a spell in the first half when we looked really dangerous, but Barcelona played well, and we didn’t exploit the time when we were better.
Then we got punished in transitions
We have to go away and learn from this. I think there was a moment for us when we looked dangerous, but perhaps we got a bit carried away trying to play the final ball too quickly, and if we’d used more possession instead of rushing it, we’d have made better chances. But there’s no need to panic – it’s about learning and being better next time.”
Bayern Munich, the reigning Bundesliga champions, are currently 23rd in the Champions League standings. They’ll be looking to climb the rankings when they host Benfica at the Allianz Arena on November 6th.

Anthony Joshua’s Rematch With Daniel Dubois In Jeopardy After Knockout
Anthony Joshua’s hopes of a rematch against Daniel Dubois are now in jeopardy two days after he was knocked out at Wembley.

Anthony Joshua‘s hopes of a rematch against Daniel Dubois are now in jeopardy two days after he was knocked out at Wembley.
Dubois retained his IBF world heavyweight crown in front of 96,000 fans as he floored Joshua four times, knocking him out in the fifth round.
AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn had disclosed that there is a rematch clause and that his fighter was likely to activate it in the aftermath of his Saturday defeat.
Hearn told DAZN: “I’m sure he’ll exercise that rematch clause, I think that’s a given. He’ll need a rest and it’s a dangerous fight. This guy’s growing in confidence all the time.
“He’ll believe he can hurt Dubois. He’ll believe he can beat him, but full credit to Daniel Dubois, he deserves all the credit tonight. It was a great performance from Daniel.”
Joshua has previously had double-headers against Andy Ruiz Jr. and Oleksandr Usyk, getting his own back against the former after a shock defeat in 2019.
However, Dubois’ promoter Frank Warren has rubbished claims of a rematch clause.
He told talkSPORT that Dubois does not have a guaranteed rematch clause in his contract, even though AJ apparently does.
In any case, he said that his camp would be open to discussing a second fight between the boxers.

Finidi George Steps Down as Coach of the Super Eagles
Finidi George, the coach of the Super Eagles, has resigned from his position after only two games in charge of the team, failing to secure a win.

Finidi George, the coach of the Super Eagles, has resigned from his position after only two games in charge of the team, failing to secure a win.
The decision came after the Super Eagles suffered a 2-1 defeat to Benin Republic during matchday 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, extending the team’s winless streak to four games.
Former Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye, announced George’s departure on Saturday via his X account.
He wrote, “News just in. Finidi George #FinidiGeorge_FG has resigned from his #NGSuperEagles manager position.”
Additionally, a source from the NFF confirmed that the federation is considering hiring a new manager for the team.
The source also suggested that there are discussions about potentially reducing the head coach’s salary. The 53-year-old was introduced as the coach of the Super Eagles in May after the departure of Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro following the 2023 African Cup of Nations in February.
Subsequently, in March, the former Enyimba manager temporarily led the team in the international friendlies against Ghana and Mali.
The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, expressed determination to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico for the Super Eagles.
Following a meeting in Abuja with the Minister of Sports Development, Sen. John Owan Enoh, the NFF boss emphasized collaboration with relevant parties to strategize and improve the team’s performance.
“It’s a very sad moment for Nigerian football. We cannot run away from that. But all I want to assure is that we are working tirelessly in conjunction with the minister to see that we come out with holistic measures that will change the face of the entire system so that we can move forward.
“Don’t forget, it is still possible, and I want to assure you that we are going to fight it to the latter and Nigeria will qualify for the World Cup.
“This is not something I will just say it now but very soon you are going to see major steps that NFF would come out with and by the grace of God, those measures that we are going to take will lead us to qualify for the next World Cup,” he said.
