Nigerian TikTok sensation Habeeb Hamzat, widely recognized as Peller, has addressed the backlash he faced due to his comments on the trending ‘30 Days Rant Challenge’.
His statements sparked considerable outrage, resulting in a notable decline in his follower count across various social media platforms.
Nigerian politician Shina Peller found himself in hot water after urging citizens to avoid participating in a viral TikTok challenge. He feared the challenge could lead to the government banning the platform altogether.
Peller suggested alternative ways to express grievances, like using Instagram or organizing physical protests. But his advice didn't go down well with many Nigerians.
A Massive Unfollowing
The backlash was swift and severe. Peller lost nearly 500,000 followers on TikTok and 400,000 on Instagram after making his comments.
Clarifying His Position
In a new video, Peller clarified that he wasn't against the challenge itself, but was worried about the potential consequences. He stressed that he had no influence over government decisions and was just an ordinary citizen.
