Veteran Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has described President Bola Tinubu as a good father to his son, Seyi Tinubu, but a worse leader to Nigerians.
Remember that a few days ago, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) officially banned Nigerian radio and television stations from airing the trending song “Tell Your Papa” by veteran rapper Eedris Abdulkareem, citing violations of broadcasting decency standards.
In a memo dated 9th April 2025, signed by the Coordinating Director of Broadcast Monitoring, Susan Obi, the commission classified the song as Not To Be Broadcast (NTBB) under Section 3.1.8 of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code.
This section prohibits materials considered “inappropriate, offensive, or in breach of public decency” from being transmitted on public airwaves.
A few days after his song was banned, Eedris Abdulkareem disclosed during a personality interview on Channels that he was inspired by Seyi Tinubu to record the song.
According to him, he saw a video of Seyi campaigning for his father where he kept praising the father as the best president.
“Seyi repeatedly it more than 6 times. And he looks perfect when he is silence than when you speak. I will advise Seyi to hand the mic to the MC next time. He lacks the charisma of telling the exact economic situation in Nigeria under his father’s government.”
“Tinubu is the best father to Seyi Tinubu, but he is the worst President to Nigerians. Eedris Abdulkareem added that President Tinubu has empowered his son, Seyi but has failed to empower Nigerians by providing jobs and food to eat .
