The well-known social media personality, Martins Otse, commonly referred to as VeryDarkMan or VDM, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
VDM has been in the custody of the anti-graft agency since his arrest in Abuja on Friday.
There has been an outcry across the nation, with Nigerian youths demanding his immediate and unconditional release.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) announced on Tuesday that the arrest was made after receiving a number of complaints about the activist. They stated that he had been sent several invitations, which he had failed to respond to.
In an update posted on his official Facebook page on Wednesday evening, Omoyele Sowore, an activist and politician, wrote, "VDM Released!"
