The controversial Nigerian singer, known as Portable, has accused First Bank of being involved in alleged kidnap attempts against him.
Portable, who made the claim in a viral video on his Instagram page, explained that he was nearly kidnapped during his visit to one of the bank's branches.
Accusing the bank of tracking him, the singer, known for his dramatic outbursts, stated that his only offence was demanding an explanation for why his account was locked by the bank.
In a clip that has since been removed, Portable recounted his experience with the bank. He denied any involvement in fraudulent activities, stating that the purported 400 Billion in the account was for his business transactions.
"I’m being trailed from First Bank to kidnap me. Who are those people trailing me. What’s my offense? I no dey do yahoo or scam. Customer is always right. That account is a business account and more money is still coming in. Please I need help ooo.
“All I did was to complain. A customer is always right. That account is a business account with over M400 billion.”
His statements follow the continuing social media debate regarding the arrest of the popular critic, VeryDarkMan, on Friday, 2nd May. He was taken into custody after visiting a Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) branch to complain about a suspected deduction from his mother’s account.
