Nigerian activist Verydarkman recently faced a dangerous situation when he came across a group of kidnappers on the Agenebode Expressway in Edo State.
He shared his story and videos of the incident on social media, leading to a huge public reaction. The event has brought renewed attention to the rising insecurity in the country and highlighted his unusual courage in a life-threatening moment.
According to reports, the kidnappers had ambushed a commercial bus filled with passengers. They shot and killed the driver and then took several passengers into the nearby bush.
After witnessing the attack, Verydarkman and his associates, who were also traveling on the road, chased the kidnappers in the bus. Videos captured by the activist show him working with police officers in a joint rescue effort.
When they caught up to the bus, Verydarkman was seen rushing to help a victim who was soaked in blood and had been caught in the crossfire. Eyewitnesses said that during the intense exchange, one of the kidnappers was killed, while the others escaped with the abducted victims. They described how the activist pulled the injured person to safety and gave urgent help before security forces took over. Many believe his quick action prevented more deaths.
Following the confrontation, Verydarkman stated that he would be willing to go into the bush himself to hunt down kidnappers if the government would provide him with weapons and proper support.
