Singers Rachel Platten and Judith Hill, bassist Rhonda Smith, and guitarist Sophie Burrell have been announced as the first honorees for the 14th annual She Rocks Awards.

Platten is best known for the anthemic “Fight Song,” which she co-wrote with Dave Bassett. The song reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 2015 and earned her a Daytime Emmy Award for a live performance on Good Morning America. Her follow-up single, “Stand by You,” also made the top 40 on the Hot 100.
Hill is a vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who has collaborated with Prince, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Josh Groban. In 2009, she was chosen as Michael Jackson’s duet partner for “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” during rehearsals for his This Is It concert residency. After his death, she performed at his memorial service. In 2014, she was featured in the Oscar-winning film 20 Feet From Stardom, and the following year, she and her co-stars won a Grammy for Best Music Film for their work in the documentary.
Rhonda Smith, a Canadian-born bassist, has collaborated with Prince, Jeff Beck, and Chaka Khan. She first worked with Prince on his 1996 album Emancipation and went on to record and tour with him for nearly a decade.
Sophie Burrell is a rising guitar and social media star.
