Utah County District Attorney Announces Decision to Seek Death Penalty in Tyler Robinson Case

 A new filing by the Utah County Attorney's Office shows that the death penalty will be pursued against Tyler Robinson, the man suspected of killing Charlie Kirk.

Robinson is facing charges of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, and obstruction of justice. Charging documents reveal that Robinson sent a text message to a friend referencing Kirk, saying, "I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out."

A report from The New York Times also states that after the shooting, Robinson texted his partner, directing them to a note he left at home that read, "I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it." Robinson's partner replied, "You weren’t the one who did it right????" to which he responded, "I am, I’m sorry."
