Actor, director, and founder of the Sundance Film Festival, Robert Redford, has died at the age of 89.
His publicist confirmed that he died in his sleep at his home in Utah. A specific cause of death was not disclosed.
Redford was a towering figure in American cinema, known for his roles in classic films such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, and All the President's Men. He also achieved critical acclaim as a director, winning an Academy Award for his directorial debut, Ordinary People (1980).
