Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has dissolved his cabinet, immediately relieving all commissioners and other public officers affected by the recent Supreme Court ruling of their appointments.
This development was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by Nelson Chukwudi, the governor's chief press secretary.
Mr Chukwudi reported that Fubara held a private farewell session with members of his cabinet at Government House in Port Harcourt.
The session was also included as part of the activities celebrating Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary.
Fubara is said to have thanked the commissioners for their contributions towards the progress and development of Rivers State over the last two years.
He also urged Nigerians to work alongside President Bola Tinubu in building a peaceful and prosperous nation.
The governor concluded by reaffirming his commitment to serve the people of the state with renewed vigour, whilst thanking the public for their support.
