Sir Shina Peters more hits classics than Michael Jackson

Sir Shina Peters, the famous Nigerian Juju musician, has stated that classic songs are the most valuable legacy a musician can leave behind.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, Sir Shina Peters said that every musician dreams of having evergreen songs by the end of their career.

The 67-year-old music veteran then claimed he felt a great sense of achievement, saying he has bagged four classic songs and boldly suggested he has more classics than the late American pop star, Michael Jackson.

According to him; “The only thing you can show for showbiz at the end is how many evergreens you have produced. To my credit, I have four evergreens. Even Michael Jackson has just two; Of The World and Thriller.

“So, if I have four, I am accomplished,” he expressed.

Sir Shina Peters, however, expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of the Nigerian music industry.

He lamented that most of the standards he and his contemporaries worked hard to set have been "bastardised" by the present crop of artists.
