Chad Shuts Border with Nigeria Over Security Fears, Citing US Military Reports

The Chadian Government has announced the immediate closure of its border with Nigeria. They've stated this is due to security concerns following reports about alleged US military plans in West Africa.

According to a report from Zagazola, the order came directly from President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno. He has commanded a full military lockdown along the Nigerian border. This decision was made after intelligence suggested that extremist groups from northern Nigeria were getting ready to cross into Chad.

Military sources in N’Djamena confirmed that the Chadian army is now on full alert. Troops and armoured vehicles have been sent to key border crossings that link the two nations.

President Déby was quoted as saying, “No armed group or foreign force will be allowed to enter Chadian soil for any reason.”

This action comes amidst rising regional tension and increasing speculation about America’s reported military activities across parts of West Africa.

Security analysts commented that the closure is a preventive step designed to protect Chadian sovereignty and stop any potential infiltration by armed groups who might try to exploit the current regional instability.
