Nigerian Actor Ibrahim Chatta's Pay Packet Hits the News

The highly versatile Nigerian actor, Ibrahim Chatta, is currently making headlines after a report detailing his earnings surfaced on social media.

Mustapha Bakare Otolo, a veteran actor, was the one who revealed the details during a popular online interview.

Otolo made the disclosure in a now-trending video while explaining why producing cinema-worthy movies is so difficult for many older, established actors.

He pointed out that while a lot of veteran actors are typically earning around N250,000 to appear in a film, Chatta's value has soared to a massive N5 million.

If Ibrahim Chatta appears on a movie set, he has been paid N5 million. That’s the amount he currently charges. He is the highest paid actor presently. So, my point is that he can do up to 20 jobs in a month. I brought him to my movie, ‘Jigi’ set in Ogbomoso recently.

You can’t compare him and other young actors to some of us that are being paid between N250,000 – N300,000 and appear in just one or two films in a month. So, that is the reason it’s difficult for some of us the veterans to produce cinema movies,” he stated.
