Nigerian star Davido and French Montana are topping the bill at the official opening concert for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Rabat, Morocco.

The gig is being held today at the Olm Souissi Fan Zone. It takes place just before the tournament’s first match between the hosts, Morocco, and Comoros at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed the line-up also includes Moroccan singer Douaa Lahyaoui, French-Moroccan star Lartiste, and newcomer Says’z.

An Instagram post from CAF said: “AFCON 2025 starts with a massive concert in Rabat. We are excited to announce French Montana and Nigerian superstar Davido as our main performers.”

“The artists will share the stage with the Moroccan singer Douaa Lahyaoui, French-Moroccan hitmaker Lartiste, and rising artist Says’z.

“The kick-off concert is set for Saturday, December 20, at Rabat’s OLM Souissi Fan Zone from 6 p.m. to midnight, ahead of the tournament opener between host Morocco and Comoros at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.”

The mix of acts shows how AFCON celebrates African culture, music, and its fame around the world.

Davido is used to performing on the big stage. He has previously performed at the 2017 AFCON opening, the 2022 World Cup draw in Doha, and the 2023 PFA awards in the UK. The AFCON 2025 finals start this Saturday, with the hosts Morocco taking on Comoros at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat.
