The Mexican pop icon will receive the distinction at the November ceremony in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico.
Gloria Trevi has been selected to receive the Artista Oro (Golden Artist) honor at the HEAT Latin Music Awards al Estilo Jalisco, Billboard exclusively announced Thursday (Oct. 29).
The award will be presented during the Premios HEAT ceremony, broadcast live on LosHeat.tv on Thursday, Nov. 5, from the International Convention Center in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. Trevi will also take the stage for a special performance.
"An Artista Oro is a superstar who has written their own story in Latin music and continues to do so," Diana Montes, CEO of the HEAT Latin Music Awards, said in a statement. "Gloria just released a song with her children [Ángel and Armando Gómez, 'Intensamente'], and is working on a new album, so this HEAT honor celebrates everything she has achieved and everything that's yet to come."
The recognition celebrates Trevi's extraordinary career, which includes 55 sold-out concerts at Mexico City's Auditorio Nacional and 14 at the Arena CDMX, more than any other Latin American artist at either venue, according to the press release. With over 30 million albums sold, 7 billion streams and multiple No. 1 hits on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart, she stands among the most iconic, controversial and influential figures in Latin music.
Celebrated for her punk attitude and explosive stage presence, Trevi has captivated audiences for nearly four decades with bold, fearless artistry and anthems such as "Pelo Suelto," "Cinco Minutos," "Con los Ojos Cerrados" and "El Favor de la Soledad." In April, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award at Billboard Latin Women in Music 2026.
Her career is also defined by continual reinvention in Latin pop. Now working independently through her label Great Talent Records, Trevi marked her legacy in 2026 with the Celebration Tour, which traveled through Latin America, Central America and Spain. The tour featured a birthday concert at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, along with sold-out dates at the Auditorio Nacional. She is currently preparing her 15th studio album, slated for release in early 2027, with its first singles, "Intensamente" and "Pompas de Jabón," arriving this year.
Off stage, Trevi is an advocate for women who have experienced domestic violence and an ally of the LGBTQ+ community. Through her Ana Dalai Foundation, she has also supported homeless children in Mexico and the U.S.
For the first time, the HEAT Latin Music Awards ceremony will be held in Mexico, in collaboration with the government of Jalisco and the municipality of Puerto Vallarta. The gala will close out HEAT Week, running from Oct. 31 to Nov. 5, with events across Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta.
This year, Karol G leads the nominees with 10 nods, including best female artist, best urban artist, album of the year for Tropicoqueta and best viral song for "BbY WOW." She is followed by nine-time nominee Bad Bunny, while Carlos Rivera and Shakira each earned seven nominations.
