The price of imported gasoline in Nigeria is on the rise!
The landing cost has jumped from N797 to N885 per liter, an increase of 88%. This means that prices at gas stations could climb to N1,000 per liter, up from the current range of N940 to N970.
Interestingly, the landing cost of N885 is higher than the ex-depot price of N815 for gasoline from the Dangote Refinery. Dangote's gasoline is currently selling at N860 to N880 per liter in Lagos and Abuja.
With Dangote's recent decision to halt sales in Naira, the price of their gasoline might also change.
“PETROAN has also noted reports circulating in the media that the temporary suspension of sales in naira by Dangote Refinery is the reason for the panic buying.
“We wish to reassure the public that this is not a justification for panic buying,” it said
