Ruth's remains were transported from Ebony Mortuary in Ikoyi to her home in Ikorodu, Ogun State, where she was subsequently laid to rest

The funeral took place on Saturday, and a video from the ceremony shows the depth of the loss.

Fellow housemates from the Big Brother Naija show, including Christy O and Groovy, were present to offer support. The atmosphere was one of shared grief, with attendees dressed in black as a sign of respect and solidarity.

The 24-year-old was involved in a road traffic accident on August 13th near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State, when a lorry owned by the Dangote Group collided with her. She had only graduated from the institution six days prior.

Ruth sustained critical injuries in the collision, necessitating the amputation of her leg. She sadly passed away on August 31st at approximately 6:30 a.m.

The Otabor family formally announced her passing via their legal representatives, Eko Solicitors & Advocates, in a statement that was also shared on Instagram by Phyna. They requested privacy during their period of bereavement.

Her untimely demise elicited an immense wave of sorrow from her devoted fans, cherished colleagues, and dear friends. These cherished individuals later gathered in significant numbers to pay their final respects and honour her memory at the burial service.
