‘Duduke’ Makes History, Earning Simi Her Debut Foreign Certification

The Nigerian singer, Simisola Kosoko, better known as Simi, has achieved her first-ever international certification with her popular song, 'Duduke'.

The track was recently awarded a Gold certification in New Zealand after selling 15,000 copies, marking her first overseas award.

Released in 2022, 'Duduke' is about the rhythm of Simi's heart beating for her unborn baby. She even showed off her baby bump in the song's video.

Following the release, she started the 'Duduke Challenge', asking fans to create their own versions of the song.

Simi mentioned in an interview that some people have been calling her daughter, Adejare, "Duduke" because the child inspired the hit. She clarified that while calling her daughter "Duduke" isn't upsetting, she would rather people use her actual name.
