FG is not doing anything about hardship in Nigeria – Zlatan Speaks out

Popular Nigerian musician Zlatan Ibile has criticised the Nigerian government for failing to properly address the country's economic difficulties.

He complained that because the government hasn't taken enough action, Nigerians are now starting to treat hardship as a normal way of life.

Zlatan raised serious worries about the situation during a recent UK interview with Madame Joyce. He was responding to comments made by the British rapper Dave, who had satirised the stark contrast between Nigeria's extravagant club-goers and the poor beggars outside the venues.

"We are used to it [suffering and smiling], that’s how it has always been and the government isn’t doing anything about it,” he lamented.

The rapper also said that, sadly, some of the beggars in Nigeria have turned begging into a profession. He noted they refuse to take up useful jobs, even though generous Nigerians, including artists, give them money every day.

Zlatan also complained about the sense of entitlement he sees in some beggars, calling it "annoying."

He urged street beggars to start productive and respectable businesses as a proper, long-term fix for their money worries.
