Neo Akpofure Threatens Lawsuit Amidst Rape Allegations

BBNaija star Neo Akpofure has initiated legal proceedings against X user Ms. Arikan Udoka, demanding a public retraction and apology over "defamatory" allegations of sexual assault. In a notice dated February 18, 2026, his legal counsel, E.L. Akpofure, San & Co., formally accused Udoka of publishing false content intended to damage the reality star's reputation.

The legal letter points to a post from 17 February 2026, where the user claimed Akpofure raped her while they were both students at the University of Calabar (UNICAL).
While the post admitted the two were "casual sex partners," it alleged that this specific encounter was not consensual.
Akpofure’s lawyers have flatly denied the claims, calling them "entirely false and malicious." They accused the woman of damaging his reputation and leaving him open to public mockery.
“The allegation falsely portrays our client as a sexual offender and a criminal, thereby subjecting him to public odium, reputational injury and emotional distress,” the letter stated.
The legal notice demands that the accuser deletes the post and any related content immediately. She must also issue a clear public apology, admitting that the claims were untrue. Additionally, the lawyers want a written promise that she will not make any more defamatory statements.
The firm warned that if she does not comply within 48 hours, they will take her to court for defamation under Nigerian law.
