Honoured During Maiden Launch of The Compatriots

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has been presented with a special recognition award at the unveiling of The Compatriots newspaper in Lagos. The guild was honoured for its significant contributions to Nigeria’s film industry and its role in promoting professionalism, creativity, and cultural development through Nollywood.

Event was held at the NERDC Conference Centre in Ikeja, Lagos, the event drew a distinguished crowd of dignitaries, media practitioners, and industry stakeholders to celebrate excellence across the media and entertainment sectors.

The AGN Lagos chapter, led by Acting Chairman High Chief Funmilayo Ikubuwaye Mary Edward, attended the ceremony alongside key executives. The delegation included Public Relations Officer Ambassador Cornell Udofia, Emmanuel Onyika (MC Senator), Prince Tunde Shado, and High Chief Oby Express.

The award recognised the AGN’s pivotal role in the growth of the Nigerian film industry and its steadfast commitment to fostering talent and cultural identity. Members of the guild expressed their gratitude for the accolade, noting that such recognition serves as an encouragement to continue making positive contributions to society through entertainment.
