Eucharia Anunobi, a well-known Nollywood actress and evangelist, has shared the difficult story of her son’s life and his long struggle with sickle cell disease.
While appearing on the Honest Brunch Podcast, she talked about the challenges of being a mother to a child with the SS genotype.
She explained that the battle started very early, as her son became ill just before he turned one year old, which is when medical tests first confirmed he had the condition.
Tearfully she said, “Just before my son was one year old, he fell ill and I took him to the hospital. They checked his genotype and said he was SS, and there started the battle of my life.”
The actress explained that she immediately began searching for ways to manage the condition, studying everything she could about caring for a child living with sickle cell disorder.
