Mai Atafo, Toju Foyeh, Mo’Cheddah Dressed in style for “Fashion Roundtable” launch

Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi Launches "The Fashion Roundtable" with a Star-Studded Celebration in Lagos

On Friday, March 19, 2026, Nigeria’s fashion elite—from top designers and stylists to media powerhouses—converged at Canvas Garden in Lekki Phase 1 for the grand unveiling of "The Fashion Roundtable."

This new long-form interview series, created and hosted by media entrepreneur Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, has officially launched on YouTube to give viewers a deeper look into the industry.

Unlike typical fashion coverage that focuses only on the glamour, this show is designed to be a serious platform for the people actually building the sector. It dives into the gritty realities of the craft, exploring everything from tough business hurdles and creative breakthroughs to the personal stories of those shaping Nigeria's style identity.

During the event, Gbemi explained that as Nigerian fashion continues to grab global headlines, there is a massive need for more honest, structured conversations. She created the series to ensure that the experiences of industry players are finally documented in detail, moving past the surface to give a voice to the innovators who are often seen on the runway but rarely heard in depth.

“I created The Fashion Roundtable because I wanted a space to have real, honest conversations with the people who are shaping Nigeria’s fashion industry,” Gbemi said. “Nigerian fashion is getting so much attention globally, and now feels like the perfect time to share these voices and their stories.” Said Gbemi.

The launch event drew an impressive turnout of industry leaders, bringing together celebrated fashion designers like Mai Atafo, Toju Foyeh, Ejiro Amos Tafiri, and Lady Beelionaire Luxury, alongside influential stylists Rhoda Ebun and Zack Aminu.

The guest list also featured prominent media and entertainment figures such as Mo’Cheddah, Bolanle Olukanni, and Mimi Onalaja, as well as top fashion influencers like Noble Igwe and Nonye Udeogu. Throughout the evening, guests connected in the stylish setting of the venue while enjoying signature drinks from Highland Park Single Malt Whisky, which provided the perfect atmosphere for the celebration.

The Fashion Roundtable is set to become a vital archivement for Nigeria’s fashion scene, featuring a diverse lineup of designers, stylists, and entrepreneurs. By documenting how the industry is structured and how it continues to evolve, the series offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the business of style.

You can now watch the first episode exclusively on YouTube, where Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi sits down with stylists Swazzi and Zack Styling. The debut features an unfiltered conversation covering the realities of their craft, the state of the industry, and the personal experiences that shaped their careers.
