Nollywood star and philanthropist Tonto Dikeh has announced a significant spiritual shift, requesting that the public stop addressing her as “King Tonto.”
In a video posted to her Instagram on Monday, she explained that she is following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, marking a fresh start and a total personal transformation.
“In obedience to the Holy Spirit, I will no longer be addressed as ‘King Tonto Dikeh.’ You can call me ‘The Woman of God,’ ‘Evangelist Tonto.’ I’m going from a mess to a message,” she stated.
She was delighted with the timing of the news. She felt that March 1 was a special sign, as it matched what she believes God had promised for her future.
“I want to make this declaration, and it gladdens my heart that I can do this on the first day of March. It just aligns with the prophecy of God upon my life, that He is marching me away from everything that is past, and marching me into the prophecies of the new morning,” she said.
According to her, the shift represents divine direction and spiritual growth.
“His joy, His peace and His authority keep aligning with me. As such, I will not be addressed as King Tonto Dikeh. You can call me the woman of God. You can call me Lady Evangelist Tonto Dikeh. You can call me Tonto Dikeh, but I will not want to be addressed as King Tonto Dikeh. This is the direction of the Holy Spirit,” she added.
The actress explained that her recent rebranding is more than just a surface-level change. According to her, the shift is driven by her faith and spiritual growth, marking what she calls a journey "from a mess to a message."
This change marks a significant departure from her previous identity. Years ago, Tonto Dikeh began calling herself "King Tonto" to project a sense of power, independence, and authority. That title eventually became her signature brand in the entertainment industry and on social media.
