Actor Nick Pasqual has been convicted of the attempted murder of his girlfriend.
A US court has convicted actor Nick Pasqual of attempted murder following a brutal knife attack on his former girlfriend, a Hollywood makeup artist, in May 2024.
Pasqual, 36, who had minor roles in television shows such as How I Met Your Mother, was found guilty of the violent assault that took place at around 4:30 a.m. on 23 May 2024, at the victim's home in Los Angeles. Prosecutors proved that the actor broke into the house in Sunland and stabbed the woman repeatedly, leaving her in a critical condition.
The victim had taken out a restraining order against Pasqual only days before the attack. After the stabbing, Pasqual tried to flee the country but was intercepted by border patrol agents at a checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas, on 29 May 2024.
The court heard harrowing testimony about the severity of the victim's injuries, which required several surgeries and a stay in intensive care. Alongside attempted murder, the jury found Pasqual guilty of first-degree residential burglary and injuring a spouse.
Pasqual now faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. A sentencing hearing has been set for 2 June to determine how long he will serve behind bars.
