Chained and Starved: The Shocking Rescue of Grace Aniekuoku in Abuja
Police in Abuja have rescued a 36-year-old woman named Grace Aniekuoku after finding her chained up in a house under terrible conditions.
Officers rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call. When a suspect tried to stop them from coming inside, the police forced their way into the building. Inside, they found Grace locked in chains, looking extremely thin and weak, and living in a very dirty environment. She was rescued immediately and taken straight to the hospital for medical treatment.
The police are still trying to figure out exactly why she was locked up. Their initial investigation suggests that the people responsible chained her to stop her from looking for her missing son. However, some neighbours and local reports claim that a fight over a family business might have been the real reason. The police say these claims are not yet proven and are still being investigated.
No matter the reason, the law is very clear: nobody has the right to chain, lock up, or abuse another human being. Doing this is a major crime that carries severe punishment under Nigerian law.
The suspect is currently locked up in police custody, and the police are working hard to find Grace’s missing son and finish their investigation.
