Prince Harry and Meghan to Return to UK with Children After Four-Year Absence
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly preparing to return to the UK with their children, Archie and Lilibet, for the first time in four years—a move already sparking fresh talk of a royal reunion.
According to reports in the British press, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will travel from their home in California next month with their two children. This will mark the family’s first joint visit to British soil since 2022.
The trip is timed to coincide with an event marking the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, the international sporting competition founded by Prince Harry for wounded, injured, and sick military personnel. However, the visit is also bound to reignite speculation surrounding Harry’s relationship with the Royal Family, following years of public tension after the couple stepped back as working royals in 2020.
Since relocating to the United States, the Sussexes have spoken openly about their reasons for leaving, pointing to intense media scrutiny, online abuse, and strained family dynamics.
While Harry has returned to the UK on several occasions over the last few years—notably for the late Queen’s funeral, King Charles III’s coronation, and various High Court legal proceedings—Meghan and the children have largely stayed behind in California.
It remains to be seen whether King Charles will meet with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet during the trip. The Monarch last saw his grandchildren in person during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
With the Sussex' family's return now on the horizon, royal commentators will be watching closely to see if this visit is strictly business, or the start of a thaw in the family's long-running rift.
