LONDON — Following highly successful, sold-out runs in Lagos and South Africa, the critically acclaimed stage play “Dear Kaffy: Diary Of A Single Woman” is set for its UK debut.

Produced by the award-winning Bolanle Austen-Peters (BAP) Productions—the powerhouse behind global hits like Saro The Musical, Wakaa!, and Fela and the Kalakuta Queens—the production will play a limited three-day engagement at London's Shaw Theatre on Euston Road.

Running from August 7 through August 9, 2026, showtimes are scheduled daily for 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The highly anticipated London run marks the next chapter in BAP Productions' ongoing mission to showcase world-class African storytelling on the global stage.

“We are delighted to bring Dear Kaffy to London,” BAP Productions said in a statement. “This is a story about self-worth, resilience, and finding the courage to define your own path. While Kike’s story is rooted in Lagos, her experiences are universal. We look forward to sharing this production with UK audiences and celebrating the richness of African storytelling on a global stage.”

At the heart of the narrative is Kikelomo “Kike” Olota, a successful 35-year-old single woman charting her path through contemporary Lagos. As she balances romantic pursuits, career ambitions, parental pressures, and rigid societal expectations, Kike’s journey unfolds as a distinctly Nigerian story with universal resonance.

“Dear Kaffy” seamlessly weaves humor, heartbreak, live music, and intimate reflection to examine deeper themes of identity, womanhood, and personal authenticity. While deeply rooted in the vibrant culture of Lagos, the play’s core message speaks powerfully to the African diaspora and anyone navigating the delicate balance between societal duty and personal desire.

For the last 10 years, BAP Productions has been at the forefront of revolutionizing Nigerian theater, celebrated for pioneering works like “Motherland The Musical,” “Death and the King’s Horseman,” and “Wakaa! The Musical.” The London premiere of “Dear Kaffy” marks the next phase of this legacy, introducing the company’s powerful narrative style to new global audiences. This run provides UK viewers with an intimate, humorous, and unfiltered look into the complexities of modern African womanhood, showcased on a major international stage.
