NEW JERSEY — International music sensations Damini Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, and Colombian pop icon Shakira shared a collaborative moment ahead of their upcoming performance at the inaugural FIFA World Cup final halftime show.

Burna Boy published footage via his official X account on Friday, documenting the pair embracing and exchanging pleasantries during a rehearsal session. The highly anticipated performance is scheduled to take place this Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States.

The singer captioned the clip: “Sunday Prep! @shakira See you at the @FIFAWorldCup Final! Dai dai, ikó, dale, allez, let’s go!”

The shared footage, accompanied by photographs, captured the two global artists in casual attire, sharing a warm embrace and lighthearted moments outside the production trailers at the venue.

FIFA previously confirmed that Burna Boy and Shakira will perform Dai Dai, the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, during the tournament's inaugural Super Bowl-style halftime show. The duo originally debuted the anthem during the tournament's opening ceremony in Mexico City.

To accommodate the unprecedented entertainment spectacle, the traditional 15-minute halftime interval is expected to be extended. Broadcasters are currently preparing for an estimated 30-minute broadcast window, which will seamlessly integrate 15 minutes of standard pundit analysis with an 11-minute marquee performance segment headlined by Burna Boy and Shakira.

According to FIFA, the highly anticipated halftime show features an expansive, star-studded lineup. Co-headliners include BTS, Madonna, and Justin Bieber, alongside performances by conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus collaborating with Coldplay. The event will also feature special appearances by characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets, with the entire production designed to advocate for and support global children's education initiatives.

The historic entertainment showcase will take place this Sunday during the World Cup final match between Spain and Argentina.
