​"I Had Major Surgery Days Ago": Ayra Starr Opens Up About Recent Health Scare

Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has opened up about a recent health scare, disclosing to fans that she underwent major surgery just days ago.

Addressing her temporary hiatus from social media in a Thursday Instagram Story post, the 24-year-old Grammy nominee admitted that the procedure turned out to be far more complicated than initially anticipated. She apologized for her absence while assuring her followers that her recovery is underway.

“Hey Mobstarrs, I’m sorry you’re not seeing as much of me as I would like. I had major surgery a few days ago. I was hoping it would be a quick recovery but it was more complicated than they expected,” she wrote.

The "Rush" hitmaker withheld further details regarding the nature of the surgery or her specific diagnosis. 

However, she reassured her supporters that she simply requires time to rest and fully recover before resuming her professional commitments.

“I just need a bit of rest and I’ll be back!!!” she added

In addition to her health update, the singer encouraged her fanbase to keep up the momentum for her forthcoming project, Starrgirl, asking them to pre-order the release and help spread the word.

“Starrgirl is coming so soooon. I need everyone out there spreading the word. Tell your friends, your family, your neighbours! Order Starrgirl ASAP!!! Love you guys.”
