Taylor Swift Paid $160K for New York Wedding Permit, Mayor Reveals

 New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani confirmed on Friday that Taylor Swift paid a $160,000 permit fee to host her massive Madison Square Garden wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce this month. 

When questioned by reporters about whether the billionaire pop icon would reimburse the city for the extensive police overtime required for the star-studded event, Mamdani noted that Swift had already covered the substantial permit bill.

“Taylor Swift has paid already the cost of the permit that was lodged, which was over $160,000 for that event and for the response to that event,” Mamdani said.

The two-day Manhattan celebration drew hundreds of high-profile celebrities and required a massive police presence, resulting in street closures around the massive indoor arena. 

While the official price tag for the extravagant event remains under wraps, Forbes estimates the total cost topped $20 million. Ahead of the nuptials, the powerhouse couple also made a massive $26 million donation to various charitable organizations.
