Famous Native Doctor "Akwa Okuko" Sentenced to 11 Months in Prison

The popular Anambra-based native doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu (better known as Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki), has been sentenced to 11 months in prison at the Awka Correctional Center. This comes after he pleaded guilty to charges involving the practice of "Okeite"—a type of ritual charm that the government says encourages crime and "Yahoo Plus" (ritual-based fraud) among youths.
The court decided that simply sending him to jail wasn't enough; they wanted to make sure he stopped his practices for good and helped steer young people away from a life of crime. Because of this, the judge handed down several strict orders:
1. He will serve his 11-month sentence at the Awka Correctional Center.
2. His famous shrine in Oba, where he performed his rituals, must be completely destroyed.
3. He is officially forbidden from practicing "Okeite" or making any similar charms ever again.
4. After he is released, he will be required to serve as an Ambassador for Youth Re-orientation, using his influence to teach young people to avoid rituals and illegal wealth.
5. Once he finishes his prison time, he must make a public statement officially denouncing the practice of "Okeite" and other similar charms.
This case is a big deal in Anambra State because the government is trying to prove that "celebrity native doctors" aren't above the law, especially when their work is linked to kidnapping or fraud. By turning a famous practitioner into a "youth ambassador," the state hopes to show that the path to success isn't through charms, but through hard work and legal means.
