Olaide Olabanji Accuses Mercy Aigbe of Betrayal After Introducing Her to Nollywood

Filmmaker Olaide Olabanji has publicly criticized actress Mercy Aigbe, labeling her an "ingrate" who turned against him after he introduced her to the film industry. 

During a recent sit-down with Oyinmomo, Olabanji expressed his disappointment, stating that Aigbe’s attitude toward him transformed from warmth to coldness following her rise to stardom.

According to Olabanji, the rift is so severe that the actress has blocked him on social media and avoids professional pleasantries when they meet. He further alleged that Aigbe harbors intense animosity toward him, suggesting that she resents his presence in the industry to the point of malice.

He said, “I brought Mercy Aigbe into the movie industry. I saw her in a shop in 2004 and asked her if she could act. She said yes, and I put her on. But now she is blocking me. To her, it is as if I should no longer exist.”
