In a short period, the impact of Comrade Churchill Chinomso Ekedo as Chief Security Officer has become a cornerstone of campus life, by restoring a peace, trust among students and staff alike. Having navigated the path from a committed student leader within the Student Union Government (SUG) and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to a seasoned professional within the university, his story is one of a deep-seated passion for service. His ascent through the ranks—from the Engineering and Works Department to Assistant CSO and now to his current appointment—demonstrates a consistent drive for competence. His background in international security programs has clearly provided him with the modern strategic framework necessary to modernize the university's security operations.

By identifying and closing critical vulnerabilities and reforming the internal structure of the security unit, Comrade Ekedo has introduced a new level of professionalism.
